News "Theater Talk" to Welcome Fierstein, Foote and Ashley in December "Theater Talk," the PBS talk show that offers interviews with top theatre practitioners, will celebrate the Broadway musical Hairspray and the new Horton Foote play Dividing the Estate in December.

The Dec. 19 broadcast of the half-hour program will welcome Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, who recently returned to the Tony-winning musical Hairspray at the Neil Simon Theatre. Fierstein is currently reprising his Tony-winning role as Edna Turnblad through the show's final performance on Jan. 4, 2009.

Following its Dec. 19 debut (at 1:30 AM) on WNET/Thirteen, this episode of "Theater Talk" will be seen on CUNY TV Channel 75 on Dec. 20 at 8: 30 PM, Dec. 21 at 12:30 PM and Dec. 22 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

The Dec. 26 broadcast of "Theater Talk" (1 AM on WNET/Thirteen) will pay tribute to Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate, which is currently playing a limited engagement at the Booth Theatre. Playwright Foote and co-stars Elizabeth Ashley and Hallie Foote will discuss the Southern family drama. The program will also feature the Broadway Inspirational Voices — under the direction of Michael McElroy — who will perform "Joy to the World."

CUNY TV will also air this episode of "Theater Talk" Dec. 27 at 8:30 PM, Dec. 28 at 12:30 PM and Dec. 29 at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
