News "Theater Talk" Welcomes Hairspray's Wendt and Cry-Baby Composers May 9 The May 9 broadcast of "Theater Talk" — the PBS chat show that offers interviews with top theatre practitioners — will focus on the musicals inspired by the movies of John Waters, Hairspray and Cry-Baby.

George Wendt, who is currently starring as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray at the Neil Simon Theatre, will be on hand to discuss his work in the Tony-winning musical.

The half-hour program will also welcome the composers of Cry-Baby, David Javerbaum and Adam Schlesinger. The new musical, which features direction by Mark Brokaw and choreography by Rob Ashford, recently opened at the Marquis Theatre.
