The Society of London Theatre reports that it "has been informed by its members that every production that was due to perform tonight [Feb. 3] has triumphed over the inclement conditions." After a reported six inches of snow fell overnight Sunday to Monday, productions that canceled performances Feb. 2 included Avenue Q, Be Near Me, Carousel, Complicit, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story On Stage, Grease, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mamma Mia!, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Les Misérables, The Mousetrap, Oliver!, On the Waterfront, The Phantom of the Opera, Private Lives, The Sound of Music, Stomp, Sunset Boulevard, We Will Rock You, Wicked and Zorro. The National Theatre announced on its website that its performance of Gethsemane in the Cottesloe would be been canceled, but that the performance of The Pitmen Painters in the Lyttelton would go ahead as advertised. English National Opera also announced that the opening night of a new production of La Bohème, scheduled for Feb. 2, has been postponed. In a press statement, ENO said, "Due to the severe weather conditions and heavily reduced public transport in London and surrounding areas, ENO has had to postpone the opening night of Jonathan Miller's new production of La Bohème to Wednesday 4 February."
