The new musical I Sing! is the story of young theatre professionals struggling to make it in New York theatre. It's only fitting the company should host a discussion for "twenty-somethings" working in the first rungs of Broadway and Off-Broadway theatre, following the July 23 performance.
The Broadway Intern Group joins the cast, producers and director of I Sing! in a panel about kicking off a career in the theatre. BIG is an organization of young professionals working their first jobs in management, production and public relations offices in the Broadway and Off-Broadway communities.

Young people, New York City, music. Those are the ingredients that matter in a new musical comedy, I Sing!, which opened Off-Broadway June 14 at the Maverick Theatre in Manhattan. Benjamin Salka directs the new work he co-wrote with composer Eli Bolin and lyricist Sam Forman. The libretto is by Bolin, Forman and Salka.
The show is billed as exploring "the wild discoveries and inevitable losses of being young, vibrant and alive today in New York City." The tuner follows five Gen Y kids in their 20s and is somewhat inspired by the lives of the twentysomething creative team, who attended Northwestern University together. The characters "mix and mingle, forming relationships as intimate, intricate, ambivalent and devastating as anything you will ever find in the Big Apple," according to press notes.
The cast includes newcomers Billy Eichner, Jeff Juday, Jodie Langel, Michael Raine and Meredith Zeitlin.
Arik Ahitov, Jeff Beil and Samuel Franco produce. Vadim Feichtner is musical director. Designers are Eric L. Renschler (set), Steven Epstein (costumes) and Ben Stanton (lighting).
