News Thomas Bradshaw’s Purity Will Play P.S. 122 Beginning Jan. 6 The world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw’s play Purity will go up at P.S. 122 Jan. 6-23, 2007.

Yehuda Duenyas — of the National Theater of the United States of America — directs. Starring are James Scruggs, Alexa Scott-Flaherty, Kate Benson, Albert Christmas, Daniel Manley, Spencer Scott Barros and Jenny Seastone Stern.

In the play, according to a release, “a refined and prominent African-American English professor's life is turned upside-down when a new, 'more black' professor is hired in his department and challenges his authenticity, his marriage to a white woman and his entire way of life. This way of life consists of literature, booze, cocaine binges and pedophilia.”

The costume designer is Jessica Gaff, set design is by Clint Ramos and lighting is by Ben Kato.

Bradshaw’s plays include Prophet, which was presented at P.S. 122 in December 2005, and Strom Thurmond Is Not a Racist. His acting credits include Richard Maxwell’s The End of Reality at The Kitchen in January 2006.
