LOS ANGELES -- Finding humor in heaven, then doing lunch with The Savior, Michael Patrick King's two new comedies, Thorn & Bloom, take a unique approach to celestial issues. The plays, on one bill, will debut Thursday, July 9, at the Court Theatre in West Hollywood. Chris Sarandon and Joanna Gleason star.
One scenario finds a screenwriter, with an appointment to meet Jesus for lunch, planing to confess to the Biblical figure that he's gay. The other comedy is about a tough seminar for new souls in Heaven.
Thorn & Bloom runs 8 PM Thursday through Sunday, to Aug. 16. Tickets are $20. The Court Theatre is located at 722 N. La Cienega Blvd., West Hollywood. Call (323) 660-8587.
