Entitled "Andrew Lloyd Webber: 60 at 60," the recording is due from Decca in March 2008, according to a Decca spokesperson. "60 at 60" — a compilation from previously recorded material — will feature 60 Lloyd Webber tunes hand-picked by the composer himself. A song list is not yet available.
Lloyd Webber, who was born in London in 1948, will celebrate his 60th birthday March 22, 2008.
Andrew Lloyd Webber is the award-winning composer of The Likes of Us, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats, By Jeeves, The Phantom of the Opera, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express, Whistle Down the Wind, The Woman in White, The Beautiful Game and Song & Dance. Among his producing credits are Bombay Dreams and the current West End revival of The Sound of Music. Lloyd Webber also took part in the TV reality casting shows for The Sound of Music and the current London revival of Joseph. He also owns seven London theatres, including the Palace, the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the London Palladium.
The composer is currently penning a sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.
