Sam Mendes, according to a casting notice, will again direct the Bridge Project double bill, which is aiming for a January 2010 bow at the Brooklyn venue, followed by a London engagement and international stops through August. New York rehearsals are slated to commence in October. The casting notice states that producers are seeking a company of 16, comprising eight British and eight American actors.

For the inaugural season of the Bridge Project, which offered The Cherry Orchard and The Winter's Tale, Mendes assembled a company boasting stage veterans from both sides of the Atlantic: Simon Russell Beale, Sinead Cusack, Rebecca Hall, Richard Easton, Josh Hamilton, Ethan Hawke, Paul Jesson, Aaron Krohn, Dakin Matthews, Mark Nelson, Hannah Stokely, Michael Braun, Selina Cadell, Morven Christie, Charlotte Parry, Gary Powell, Tobias Segal and Jessica Pollert Smith.

The Bridge Project, a joint venture between BAM, The Old Vic and director Mendes, was conceived as a three-year endeavor.
