Classic Arts News Tickets On Sale for Kirov's 2007 Ring Cycle in New York Tickets are now available for the Kirov Opera's 2007 performances of Wagner's Ring cycle at the Metropolitan Opera House.
The four-opera cycle, presented by the Met and the Lincoln Center Festival, will be seen twice between July 13 and 21, 2007. Valery Gergiev, the artistic director of St. Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre, where the Kirov is based, will conduct.

The Kirov's production, according to a press release, is "based on Russian, Caucasian, and especially Scythian folk mythology." It was conceived by Gergiev and set designer George Tsypin and is directed by Vladimir Mirzoev and Julia Pevzner. Costumes are by Tatiana Noginowa; lighting is by Gleb Filschtinsky.

The production premiered in St. Petersburg in 2003; it will travel to the Orange Country Performing Arts Center in Southern California in October 2006.
