Tina Fey wrote and appeared in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, and now that she’s penned the book for the Broadway musical adaptation, could she possibly appear on stage as well? Don’t count on it.

The Emmy winner—Tony-nominated this season—entertained the idea in a digital short during her May 19 hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, showing just how terribly rehearsals would go.

In the sketch above, Fey joins the stars and tries her hand at some Casey Nicholaw choreography, shows off her vibrato, and dons a Gretchen Wieners outfit (and wig). It doesn't goes particularly well—nor does Fey dancing in the North Shore Lion suit.

“Tina Fey starring in the Mean Girls musical is going to be fetch," producer Lorne Michaels says, "in that it’s not going to happen."

Fey has said she’s dreamt of appearing in a Playbill, and it looks like it’ll just be as a writer (for now): “Maybe it’s okay if I can’t be like Lin-Manuel, and jam myself into my show whether people like it or not.”

In a later sketch, Fey, as Sarah Palin, led a Trump administration-inspired rendition of A Chorus Line's "What I Did For Love" in the White House.
