Adventures of Tintin is based on the popular "Tintin" cartoon.

Following a U.K. tour, Tintin begins previews at the Playhouse on Dec. 6 and officially opens Dec. 12. The production received it world premiere at the Barbican in December 2005 during the Young Vic's £12.5 million rebuild.

Adapted by Norris and David Greig, The Adventures of Tintin sees Hergé's hero travel to Tibet to rescue his old pal Chang, whose plane crashed into the country's mountainous icy slopes.

In the title role, drama school graduate Matthew Parish replaces Rusell Tovey (The History Boys), who created the role for the world premiere.

This year (2007) marks the centenary of the birth of Belgian artist George Remi, best known as Hergé, the creator of the popular Tintin graphic novels.

The stories are set to receive a worldwide audience with the news that Steven Spielberg is planning to produce three Tintitn movies, directed by Peter "Lord of the Rings" Jackson.

Norris' credits include Vernon God Little, which continues an extended run at the Young Vic; Cabaret at the West End's Lyric Theatre; and the acclaimed adaptation Festen.
