[title of show], Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen's affectionately campy and satirical meta-musical about the creation of a musical, makes its Los Angeles premiere July 14 courtesy of the Celebration Theatre in Hollywood.

Opening night is scheduled for July 16, and performances will continue through Sept. 5.

Michael A. Sheppard direct a cast that comprises Jeffrey Landman, Micah McCain, Jennifer Blake and Carey Peters. Ameenah Kaplan choreographs with musical direction by Greg Nabours.

The design team includes scenic designer Kurt Boetcher, lighting designer Matt Denman, sound designer Veronica Lancaster and prop designer Michael O'Hara.

Described in Celebration press notes as "a musical about making a musical created by - and for - people who love musicals," [title of show] received a 2009 Tony Award nomination for its book, written by Hunter Bell. Bell, the show's composer-lyricist Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff all appeared in the initial New York productions, including a run at New York Musical Theatre Festival, an Off-Broadway production at the Vineyard Theatre and a Broadway run at the Lyceum Theatre.

The four actors played a theatrical version of themselves, four friends who collaborate on creating a musical. (The character names continue to hold the names of each actor who originally played them.) Celebration Theatre is located at 7051B Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.
