Beginning October 1, considerably less math will be required when stopping by TKTS for discounted tickets. The boards outside all booths will now display discounts as prices instead of tickets. The prices displayed will include service charges, giving theatregoers the exact total per ticket. Shows offering multiple discounts will have a price range listed.

TDF, which operates TKTS, began testing the change at the Lincoln Center location in August, and will now implement it at the Times Square (Broadway and 47th Street) and Seaport (190 Front Street) locations as well. Prices will also be displayed on the TKTS app and at TDF.org.

“As ticket pricing has become more complex over the past few years, just having the percentage discount listed was not providing sufficient information to the many tourists and New Yorkers who use the booths,” said Victoria Bailey, TDF’s executive director, in a statement. “By having the prices displayed, individuals and families can not only decide on which shows they’d like to see, but which best fits their budget.”
