The July 7 evening performance of Israel Horovitz’s Out of the Mouths of Babes at the Cherry Lane Theatre has been canceled due to a recovering Estelle Parsons, who co-stars in the production with two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey.

According to a production spokesperson, “Ms. Parsons, who is currently starring in Cherry Lane Theatre's hit Off-Broadway comedy Out of the Mouths of Babes, is fine following a brief visit to the hospital last night. [Oscar winner Parsons was brought to the hospital after the first act of the July 6 evening performance.] Due to a two-show day during extremely warm weather she was treated for dehydration. Ms. Parsons is at home feeling better but this evening's performance will be canceled to ensure a full recovery.”

Out of the Mouths of Babes will resume performances July 8 at 7 PM.

In the new comedy four women arrive in Paris for the funeral of a 100-year-old man who loved each of them.

The production also stars Angelina Fiordellisi and Francesca Choy-Kee, with direction by Barnet Kellman. Following an extension announcement, it will now play through July 31.

“For 24 hours, they share his apartment, delicious secrets, and a dead cat,” state press notes.

The creative team includes scenic designer Neil Patel, costume designer Joseph G. Aulisi, lighting designer Paul Miller and Tony-winning sound designer Leon Rothenberg.
