Playwright Lucas' Reckless — originally produced in 1983 — involves a suburban wife who lives in bliss until one Christmas Eve when a hitman, hired by her hubby, makes an attempt on her life. The Second Stage staging was to play as part of this season under the direction of Brokaw (Lobby Hero, Marty). The production was postponed for scheduling conflicts.

Parker, who won her Tony for her leading role in David Auburn's Proof, also garnered a Tony nomination for her previous Lucas-penned work Prelude to a Kiss. The actress has also been seen in Bus Stop, Communicating Doors, How I Learned to Drive, Four Dogs and a Bone, The Art of Success and The Age of Pie. Parker, who has a recurring role on the NBC drama "The West Wing," has been seen in such films as "Boys on the Side," "Grand Canyon," "Fried Green Tomatoes," "Portrait of a Lady," "Bullets Over Broadway" and the screen adaptation of "Reckless." Parker will appear in the upcoming HBO film version of Tony Kushner's "Angels in America" set to air in December.

Lucas has found success with plays that include The Dying Gaul, God's Heart, Blue Window, Missing Persons, Stranger and This Thing of Darkness. Lucas penned the book for the musicals Marry Me a Little, Three and the opera libretti to Orpheus in Love.
