News Tony Awards-Related Events Scheduled for May and June As the cut-off date for Tony eligibility nears — Wednesday, May 4 — a host of Tony-related events and meetings have been announced.

The Tony Administration Committee will meet May 5 to discuss eligibility of the Broadway productions that opened during the final portion of the current season; those shows include Steel Magnolias, Pillowman, Julius Caesar, Glengarry Glen Ross, Light in the Piazza, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, All Shook Up and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The Tony committee will then assemble May 9 to determine the nominees for the 59th Annual Tony Awards. The 2005 Tony Award nominees will be announced live from the Broadway Lounge of the Marriott Marquis on May 10.

The annual Tony nominee press reception, which allows members of the press the chance to interview the season's Tony nominees, will take place May 11 at The View, located on the 48th floor of the Marriott Marquis.

The Tony Nominees Class photo — taken in Times Square — is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18. And, the Tony Nominees Luncheon will be held May 19 at the Rainbow Room. Nominees will be presented with their Tony nomination certificates at the luncheon, which is not open to the press.

All these events lead up to what is arguably the biggest night in the theatrical calendar, The 59th Annual Tony Awards. Held at Radio City Music Hall, the Tonys will be broadcast live on CBS-TV on Sunday, June 5 from 8 to 11 PM ET; Hugh Jackman hosts. The Tony Gala will follow at the New York Marriott Marquis.
