It will begin performances May 17 prior to an official opening May 29, for a run in rep through Aug. 24.

The production will be directed by Jonathan Munby. Best will be joined by Phil Daniels as Enorbarbus. Further casting is still to be announced.

Best was last seen on the Globe stage as Beatrice in the 2011 production of Much Ado About Nothing, and last year directed Macbeth there. Her performance in the title role of Hedda Gabler at the Almeida won her the 2005 Olivier Award for Best Actress. In 2012 she played the title role in The Duchess of Malfi at London's Old Vic.

Daniels was previously seen at the Globe in The God of Soho in 2011, and is soon to appear as The Citizen in The Knight of the Burning Pestle at the indoor Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at the Globe from Feb. 20. Other recent stage credits include This House at the National and The Beggar's Opera at the Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park.
