News Tony Nominee Hewitt Returns to Broadway's Chicago March 2 Tom Hewitt, who received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his performance in The Rocky Horror Show, returns to the cast of the Tony-winning revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago March 2.

Hewitt again steps into the role of slick lawyer Billy Flynn, temporarily replacing Tom Wopat, who is currently headlining the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel. Hewitt will be Flynn through March 22; Wopat returns the following day.

Hewitt joins a company that currently includes Bryn Dowling as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ray Bokhour as Amos Hart, Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Hewitt's other Broadway credits include Dracula, The Musical; The Boys from Syracuse; The Lion King; School for Scandal; and The Sisters Rosenzweig. He also appeared in the national tours of Urinetown and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and has been seen Off-Broadway in Jeffrey, Beau Jest, Richard III and Othello.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 215 West 49th Street.

The long-running musical celebrated its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14, 2008.
