Earlier this season, the Tony Awards had announced that the 2006 Tony for Lifetime Achievement would be presented to Harold Prince at a private reception at the Waldorf-Astoria June 10. Because Prince is busy directing the Las Vegas version of The Phantom of the Opera, the June 10 gathering will now celebrate the Tony nominees and the 60th anniversary of the Tony Awards.

The CBS broadcast, however, will feature a tribute to veteran director-producer Prince, who is the recipient of a record 21 Tony Awards. (After June 11, he'll have 22 Tonys on his shelf.)

The 2006 Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on CBS-TV on June 11, from 8-11 PM ET. Visit for more information.

The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel is located in Manhattan at 301 Park Avenue at 49th Street. The Tony celebration is a by-invitation-only event.
