The only Shaw play set in the U.S., it's billed by Asolo as "a timely, crackling comedy presented in true Shaw style and set in New Hampshire during the American Revolution." It plays to May 24. In the examination of Puritan values, "self-professed 'devil's disciple' Dick Dudgeon has rejected Puritan values to follow his will. The Reverend Anderson follows his heart and practices what he preaches. Mrs. Anderson is the picture of piety until British soldiers mistakenly arrest Dick instead of the Reverend."

The cast includes Brent Bateman, David Breitbarth, James Clarke, Dan Donohue, Douglas Jones, Heather Kelly, James Leaming, Demario McGrew, Carolyn Michel, Steven O'Brien, Kevin O'Callaghan, Dolph Paulsen, Michelle Trachtenberg and David Yearta.

Walton (who designs sets and costumes for Disciple) also designed the sets for Asolo Rep's 2007 production of A Tale of Two Cities, which went on to a Broadway run in 2008. He has 16 Tony Award nominations for his Broadway sets and/or costumes. He won Tonys for his work on Pippin, House of Blue Leaves and Guys and Dolls.

Walton was Oscar-nominated for his work on "Mary Poppins," "The Boy Friend," "The Wiz" and "Murder on the Orient Express," and he won the Oscar for "All That Jazz."

During the last 12 years he has directed productions of Wilde, Shaw, Coward, and others for New York's Irish Rep, San Diego's Old Globe and Bay Street Theatre. He is currently preparing to direct and design the Sherman Brothers' musical Busker Alley, starring Jim Dale, for Broadway.

He directed The Devil's Disciple for the Irish Repertory Theatre in Manhattan in 2007-08.
