Tony winner Alex Sharp is set to star in The Sunlit Night, a new film adaptation of Rebecca Dinerstein’s debut novel of the same name, according to Variety. Also tapped to star in the movie are actor and comedian Jenny Slate, who is producing, as well as Tony nominee Jessica Hecht, Zach Galifianakis, and Gillian Anderson.

David Wnendt will direct The Sunlit Night. The story follows an unlikely couple who find one another in the Arctic Circle. Slate will play Frances, an American painter attempting to jumpstart her career, and Sharp will play Yasha, who is on a journey to bury his father.

Sharp has been keeping busy in Hollywood since ending his Tony-winning run in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (a role which marked his Broadway debut just months after graduating The Juilliard School). He is currently starring in How to Talk to Girls at Parties, the new screen project from Hedwig and the Angry Inch star and creator John Cameron Mitchell. He was also seen in the original Netflix drama To the Bone, and is part of the upcoming Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson.
