Barry, a veteran fight director whose credits include Broadway's An Inspector Calls, The Life and City of Angels, as well as numerous films and operas, has been at work on the stage adaptation of Treasure Island for over a decade.

He will direct his adaptation, which is co-authored alongside Vernon Morris. Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver will drop anchor at the Irondale Center Feb. 15, 2011, towards a March 5, 2011, opening. The production will sail on through March 26, 2011.

Previous reports stated that Treasure Island would arrived on Broadway in the summer of 2007 (initially capitalized at a cost of $3.5 million), while the official website for the production states a 2011 Broadway bow is planned.

A representative for the production said the hope is that Treasure Island will be mounted on Broadway, but there are no plans beyond the Brooklyn run.
