Film & TV News Tony Winner Laura Benanti Returns as Melania Trump to Refute Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury The White House tell-all got Stephen Colbert to ask the actor back in her regular guest role.

Actor Laura Benanti’s appearances as Melania Trump impersonator have increased in frequency, and on the January 10 episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Benanti again took on the role to answer questions about Fire and Fury.

The White House tell-all book by Michael Wolff dropped January 5. The President and many of his staffers vehemently oppose the contents of the book, and late-night host Colbert invited “Melania” to comment on the validity of some of its facts.

Benanti currently stars in Steve Martin’s new comedy Meteor Shower on Broadway, alongside Amy Schumer, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jeremy Shamos. This past Sunday’s matinee performance on January 7 was canceled as Benanti and Schumer had both called out ill.
