Presented as part of the League's Oral History, the event will be held at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Andrea Chapin will conduct the interview.

Ruehl garnered an Academy Award, Golden Globe, L.A. Film Critics and Venice Film Festival awards for Best Actress in the film "The Fisher King." Her stage credits include Lost in Yonkers; The Shadow Box; The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?; and The American Plan. She has also acted in the films "BIG," "Married to the Mob," "Heartburn" and "Funny People."

Chapin, who served as an editor at The Paris Review, Conjunctions and The Lincoln Center Theater Review, has been published in More, Redbook, Town & Country, Self, Martha Stewart Living and Marie Claire UK.

The ongoing Oral History Project chronicles and documents the contributions of significant theatre women in many fields. The interviews are videotaped and preserved for posterity in the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Previous interviews have featured Patti LuPone, Christine Ebersole, Kia Corthron, Donna Murphy and Frances McDormand.

Admission is free; seats are on a first-come, first-seated basis.

The League of Professional Theatre Women is a not-for-profit organization with a membership of almost 500 women that presents numerous events each year as part of its mission to promote visibility and increase opportunities for women in the field.
