Variety reports that Tony Award winner Trevor Nunn has committed to direct a revival of the award-winning musical for the up and coming theatre company. Dates and casting have not been announced. The Menier production would mark the first major London revival of Night Music since the 1995 National Theatre production. Variety also reports that the Menier's current production of La Cage aux Folles will likely transfer to the West End in April. Menier launched the new London production of Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park With George, now on Broadway (with a cast of U.K. and American actors).

A Little Night Music — featuring a score by Sondheim and a book by Wheeler — originally opened at Broadway's Shubert Theatre on Feb. 25, 1973, with a cast that included Glynis Johns as Desiree, Len Cariou as Fredrik and Hermione Gingold as Madame Armfeldt. The show, directed by Harold Prince, garnered five 1973 Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical. The Sondheim score features the composer's best-known tune, "Send in the Clowns," as well as "Every Day a Little Death," "The Miller's Son" and "A Weekend in the Country."

Trevor Nunn has won Tony Awards for his direction of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (with John Caird), Cats and Les Misérables (with Caird), and was Tony-nominated for his direction of All's Well That Ends Well, Starlight Express, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard, Not About Nightingales and Oklahoma!.
