On Aug. 20 and 21, Huffman will perform an evening of songs and stories that includes tunes by Townsend and Sondheim. “Cady Huffman: Live at Ars Nova” will feature direction by David Brind and musical direction by Mitchell Kaplan. Cabaretgoers can expect to hear Huffman’s tales about “everything from making her Broadway debut as a drag queen to having aspirations of becoming an operatic soprano.” Show time is 7 PM on Aug. 20 and 8 PM on Aug. 21.
Cady Huffman received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance in The Producers. She has also appeared on Broadway in The Will Rogers Follies, Steel Pier, Big Deal, La Cage aux Folles and Dame Edna: The Royal Tour. Huffman has been seen on screen in “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “One Life to Live,” “Sunday on the Rocks,” “Hero” and “Space Marines” and will soon be seen in “Itty Bitty Titty Committee” and “Romance & Cigarettes.”
