News Tony-Winning Red Creative Team to Paint Madame Butterfly in Houston Tony Award-winning Red collaborators Michael Grandage, Neil Austin and Christopher Oram will reunite in Houston this fall for Puccini's Madame Butterfly.

Grandage will stage the new production that will play the Houston Grand Opera Oct. 22-Nov. 5. Lighting designer Austin and set and costume designer Christopher Oram are also on board to render designs for the opera. Each of the trio picked up a Tony Award June 13 for his work on John Logan's Mark Rothko-inspired drama Red.

The season will also feature Dead Man Walking, the opera penned by Jake Heggie and Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally. McNally's Master Class director, Leonard Foglia, will helm the opera that runs Jan. 22-Feb. 6, 2011. Also on board are Master Class scenic designer Michael McGarty, Tony Award-winning Love! Valour! Compassion! costume designer Jess Goldstein, Tony-nominated lighting designer Brian Nason and projection designer Elaine McCarthy.

Following Dead Man Walking, Tony Award-winning Sweeney Todd director John Doyle is slated to direct Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor Jan. 28-Feb. 11, 2011.
