Cooper, who won his Tony for his work in Cy Coleman’s The Life, has titled his new show Shoulda Woulda Coulda. (Another Tony winner, Patti LuPone, premiered a similarly titled act, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda at Carnegie Hall in 1999.) Cooper’s show will chart his Broadway journey and will also include songs from Sweeney Todd, Little Shop of Horrors, Pippin, Standup Shakespeare and Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues. At Don’t Tell Mama, Cooper will be accompanied by Doyle Newmyer (piano), Sipho Kunene (drums) and Ayodele Maakheru (bass). Jeffery Thompson is the show’s director with Newmyer as musical director. Show times are 5 and 9 PM on April 6, 8 PM on April 7 and 7 PM on April 13.

Chuck Cooper’s many theatrical credits include roles in The Life, Chicago, Thunder Knocking On the Door, Passion, Avenue X and Someone to Watch Over Me. He also starred as Paul Robeson in the one-man show Robeson.
