Prunella Scales heads the cast of Too Far To Walk at the King's Head, Islington.

The play is written by Mary Morris and directed by Lucy Skilbeck, and tells the story of sisters Clarissa and Olivia and how they are reunited after more than 50 years.

After the death of her mother, Clarissa is placed in a mental institution as there are no places available in children's homes. Meanwhile her sister, Olivia, is encouraged by the authorities to forget she ever had a sister.

Clarissa slowly becomes institutionalized, yet on her release searches for her sister who has long since emigrated to Australia. Eventually they are re united in Perth, and Clarissa has finally traveled the distance that all her life was too far to walk.

Prunella Scales, who heads the cast, is a distinguished actress who earned eternal fame as Sybil Fawlty in the 1970's television comedy series "Fawlty Towers," but is also an accomplished stage actress who memorably played the Queen in Alan Bennett's A Question of Attribution at the National Theatre and in the West End.

Too Far To Walk previews at the King's Head, Islington on Nov. 12 and runs to Dec. 8.; press night is Nov. 20.
