LOS ANGELES -- Libby, a one-woman "cabaret fantasy" based on events in the controversial life of Broadway torch singer Libby Holman, will be presented at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's Cinegrill for three days in August. The one-hour presentation stars Broadway performer Kelly Ellenwood (The Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods) singing 11 original songs by composer/lyricist Stewart Gordon. Libby Holman was Broadway's sexy singing sensation in the 1920s. She married tobacco-heir playboy Smith Reynolds, and was later suspected of his murder.

The show runs at 8 PM Aug. 16 and 23 and 8 PM and 11 PM Aug. 30.Tickets are $20 plus a two-drink minimum. Reservations are strongly recommended. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel's Cinegrill is at 7000 Hollywood Blvd. Call (213) 466-7000.
