News Tovah to Go Out of Her Mind at NYC's Firebird, Oct. 3 Back in 1996, Off-Broadway's Jewish Repertory Theatre brought in Tovah Feldshuh's Tovah: Out Of Her Mind as a last-minute replacement for another show that fell through. After playing several weeks during the summer at the Jewish Rep space at Playhouse 91, the show booked other engagements, including the Emelin Theatre in suburban Mamaroneck, NY and Queens Theatre in the Park.

Back in 1996, Off-Broadway's Jewish Repertory Theatre brought in Tovah Feldshuh's Tovah: Out Of Her Mind as a last-minute replacement for another show that fell through. After playing several weeks during the summer at the Jewish Rep space at Playhouse 91, the show booked other engagements, including the Emelin Theatre in suburban Mamaroneck, NY and Queens Theatre in the Park.

Now theatregoers get another chance to catch the offbeat, Yiddish-tinged, song-and-sketch show which will play a one-night engagement at the Firebird Cafe, Oct. 3 at 9 PM. Feldshuh co-wrote the material for this solo show with Larry Amoros.

Best known for starring in Broadway's Sarava, Yentl and Teibele and Her Demon, Feldshuh's recent credits include the solo Tallulah and a stint in Full Gallop at Hartford Stage.

Cabaret is a new addition to the ornate Firebird, brought there by Erv Raible, who'd previously co-founded and run the Village nightspot Eighty Eights, which shut its doors May 31. -- By David Lefkowitz
