Over two dozen artists will join Town Stages' Sokoloff Arts Fellowship program. This marks the second year of the initiative between the TriBeCa venue and the organization.
Recipients—including producers and entrepreneurs, writers and content creators, and more—will receive access to Sokoloff Arts' staff and community of collaborators, as well as free work and performance spaces to develop their projects while fostering a network of peers for support and feedback.
The 2019 Fellowship recipients (and their projects) are: Charlotte Arnoux and Alex Parrish (UltraViolet), Nikko Benson (ElseWhere), Éamon Boylan (Femmebodys), Maximus DeFrancesco, Molly Powers Gallagher (Three Sisters, Their Brother, & Their Dead Mother), Tess Howsam (The Reflection Cabinet and "Water,Water,Everywhere...", Rachel Lin (Dear John), Anna Lublina (Bab(oo)shka), Lacy Marie Meyer (Who I Am), Ben Moniz (Untitled Ballet About America), Marina Montesanti (Exi(s)t), Zach Morris (Incubator for Communal Experiences), Mark Murray (Pilots), Tara O'Con, Noah Reece (And God Came Down), Tidtaya Sinutoke, Alex Spieth (Stag), Jeff Tang (Such Strange Gravity), Greg Taubman (Essence & Presence), The Mother Line Story Project, Will Thomason (Les Pianistes Dansants), Isaac L. “We were so lucky to have such an incredible group of makers go on this journey with us in our first year,” said Chie Morita, Deputy Director at TownStages and coordinator of the Fellowship. “I’m thrilled to start 2019 off with a renewed dedication to creative space-making, the promotion of collaborative asking, and a bigger and brighter program. I believe in art that asks us to empathize and be vulnerable, and I am certain that this group is going to encourage thinking and feeling at a whole new level.”
