News Track Listing Announced for "Producers" Film Soundtrack Twenty-three tracks comprise the soundtrack for the eagerly awaited film of "The Producers," the upcoming movie based on the Tony-winning musical of the same name, which itself was based on the original Mel Brooks film.

"The Producers" soundtrack is set to hit stores Nov. 22 on the Sony Classical label. In addition to most of the songs found in the Broadway musical, the soundtrack will also include "There's Nothing Like a Show on Broadway," a new tune penned for the film, which is performed by co-stars Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. A bonus track of "The King of Broadway" is also part of the single disc release.

"The Producers," based on the Tony-winning musical of the same name, stars Nathan Lane as Max Bialystock, Matthew Broderick as Leo Bloom, Gary Beach as Roger De Bris, Roger Bart as Carmen Ghia, Uma Thurman as Ulla and Will Ferrell as Franz Liebkind. The Universal Pictures/Columbia Pictures film — directed by Tony Award winner Susan Stroman — will open in movie theatres nationwide on Dec. 25. (Select cities will see the film open a few days earlier on Dec. 16.)

The original 1968 "The Producers" film about a conniving producer starred Zero Mostel as producer Bialystock and Gene Wilder as Bloom. Others in the cast included Kenneth Mars as Franz Liebkind, Renée Taylor as Eva Braun, Christopher Hewett as Roger De Bris, Lee Meredith as Ulla and Andréas Voutsinas as Carmen Giya. Mel Brooks won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay for "The Producers," and Gene Wilder was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

The Producers, winner of 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, continues to play at Broadway's St. James Theatre.
