Bob Enevoldsen, a trombonist who was part of the West Coast Jazz scene in the 1950s, died on November 19, JazzTimes reports.

Enevoldsen was born in Billings, Montana. After playing in the Army Air Force band during World War II, he joined a big band in Salt Lake City.

In 1951, he moved to Los Angeles, where he played with such West Coast stars as drummer Shelly Manne, alto saxophonist Art Pepper, and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan.

He also worked regularly as a studio musician, recording music for television and film.
