And how are things in Tuna, Texas?

No one should know better than the denizens of Texas itself. The folks of Fort Worth have a chance to catch up with their "neighbors" Vera Carp, Bertha Bumiller, Inita Goodwin and Helen Bedd when Red, White and Tuna stops June 20-25 at the Bass Performance Hall.

Creators Joe Sears and Jaston Williams play a multitude of characters, male and female, in the third trip to Tuna, the quintessential Texas small town filled with all kinds of eccentrics. As the Tuna High School Reunion approaches on Fourth of July weekend, the people of Tuna are right where A Tuna Christmas left them off. Did the UFO communicate with Didi Snaveley? Are Bertha and Arles one of Tuna's hottest items? Will Petey Fisk get his wish for a more humane Tuna? And who will win the Tuna Reunion Beauty Contest?

Sears and Williams achieved national prominence 15 years ago when they first introduced the denizens of Tuna -- Texas' "third smallest town" -- in Greater Tuna, which became a long-running success thanks to their deft comic dialogue and timing, multiple characterizations and split second costume changes. That was followed by A Tuna Christmas, which played two Command Performances at the White House and went on to be performed more than a thousand times around the country, including a brief Broadway stint.

Tickets are $43-$17. The Bass Performance Hall is located at Fourth St. between Calhoun & Commerce. For reservations, call (817) 467-ARTS or (214) 631-ARTS. The Greater Tuna website is located at http://www.greatertuna.com. -- By Christine Ehren
