Halloway's dilemma is that he shares the same name as the actor portraying the island bad boy, Sawyer, on the television hit "Lost." According to press notes, "The play follows Halloway's life as a pre-eminent Jewish Monologist looking for his lucky break. But when he learns that his identity has been poached by America's favorite bad-boy, he embarks on an epic journey (through stage and screen) to get it back."
Andy Donald directs the production featuring a combination of live performance, satirical multi-media and celebrity video cameos. Also set to co-star with writer Halloway are Dylan Dawson and Victoria Freed. Lighting is by Carl Faber with interactive video by Aaron Maurer.
A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Halloway worked as an assistant to Academy Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Alfred Uhry, and served as Hal Prince's directorial intern for LoveMusik.
LOST: How a Certain TV Mega Hunk Stole My Identity is produced by Movie Geek, the comedy troupe responsible for the 2005 multimedia Fringe hit, Movie Geek, for which Halloway served as the narrator. Movie Geek is currently set to begin a six-month residency at the Ars Nova as part of its "Thursdays at Ten Series."
LOST will play the Cherry Lane Theatre (located at 38 Commerce Street, between 7th Avenue and Hudson) as part of the New York International Fringe Festival, Aug. 11-23. For tickets visit www.FringeNYC.org or call (212) 279-4488. For more information visit www.whoismoviegeek.com.
