Continuing a season-long look at "Fascinating Women" that began with Jon & Jen, The Tragic And Horrible Life Of The Singing Nun and Michael John LaChiusa's off-beat musical, First Lady Suite, Theatre LaB Houston will offer three more shows about singular ladies.

First up, June 18-July 27, is The Rink, Terrence McNally, John Kander & Fred Ebb's musical about a mother and her estranged daughter fighting over he old family skating rink. Susan Shofner and Jentry Brown star as mother and daughter -- roles played on Broadway by Chita Rivera and Liza Minnelli. Jimmy Phillips will direct the piece, which will be backed by woodwinds, piano and percussion.

Stuart Greenman's drama, Silence, Cunning, Exile, takes the stage Sept. 10-Oct. 19. A haunting drama that played at NY's Public Theatre, the show takes a semi-fictional look at the life of photographer Diane Arbus, who chronicled society's freaks and outcasts.

Peter Feibleman's Cakewalk ends the season, Nov. 5-Dec. 14. Based on the author's memoir, "Lilly: Reminiscences of Lillian Hellman," Cakewalk follows Feibleman's 25-year affair with the eccentric writer. Linda Lavin played the role Off-Broadway to much acclaim in 1996.

Also, as a special presentation, Eve Ensler will bring her hit Off-Broadway solo, The Vagina Monologues, to Theatre LaB this week, May 28-31 for six performances. Ensler's sad/funny piece examines women's attitudes towards their own bodies. For tickets and information on shows at Theatre LaB Houston call (713) 868-7516.
