News   Tyson Set for Alley Staging of Underneath the Lintel
Glen Berger's Underneath the Lintel will make its "overdue" Alley Theatre debut March 21.

Alex Harvey directs the Alley production that officially opens on the Neuhaus Stage March 26 and will play through April 20.

Berger's work begins as an "assistant acquisitions librarian finds a late book in the overnight slot and becomes determined to track down the offender... especially since the book is 113 years overdue. As his endeavors continue, he finds himself on a journey that unlocks ancient mysteries and moves him to new revelations."

The one-man work stars Alley Company member John Tyson as the Librarian. Tyson has appeared in the Alley stagings of The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Arsenic and Old Lace, Death on the Nile, Treasure Island, Subject to Fits, Wait Until Dark, Black Comedy and The Pillowman.

Underneath the Lintel enjoyed a healthy Off-Broadway run when it played 450 performances at the Soho Playhouse from 2001-2003.

The creative team for Under the Lintel includes scenic and lighting designer Kevin Rigdon, costume designer Blair Gulledge and sound designer Daniel Baker with original compositions by Andy Statman and projection design by Clint Allen. Tickets are available by visiting www.alleytheatre.org or by calling (713) 220-5700.

The Alley Theatre is located at 615 Texas Avenue in Houston, TX.
