News U.K. Gay Playwriting Competition Now Accepting Scripts

Are you the next Mark Ravenhill or Joe Orton? Have you a play about a topical gay issue, or a new take (like Mother Clap's Molly House) on gay history? If so, send your script to Newham's Writing Out Award competition.

The Writing Out Award is the third annual nationwide competition to find the best original stage or screenplay on Lesbian and Gay themes, under the directorship of leading gay theatre director Phil Willmott, funded by the London Borough of Newham.

Entries from writers at any stage in their careers are invited to submit relevant, complete and unperformed scripts to The Administrator, Writing Out Awards, The Finborough Theatre, 118 Finborough Rd, London SW10 9ED - by 1st December 2002.
