Richard O'Brien, the creator of The Rocky Horror Show, returned to the show to make his first stage appearances in the U.K. in more than 10 years. He played Riff-Raff in the 1975 film.
O'Brien took the role of the Narrator during the short-return engagement at the West End's Playhouse Theatre Sept. 11-19, with a gala charity performance being staged in aid of Amnesty International Sept. 17 that was broadcast live to cinemas across the U.K. and Europe.
The production also features guest narrators Stephen Fry ("Wilde," "Blackadder"), Emma Bunton (The Spice Girls), Anthony Stewart Head ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Adrian Edmondson ("The Young Ones") and Mel Giedroyc ("The Great British Bake Off").
The broadcast will be seen around the world in countries including the U.S., Australia and New Zealand. The show will be rebroadcast Oct. 31 to conclude a full day of "Doctor Who" reruns on BBC America.
The stage production, directed by Christopher Luscombe, will embark on a new national tour beginning performances Dec. 17 at Brighton's Theatre Royal.
