U.K.'s Daughter-in-Law Announces Extension

News   U.K.'s Daughter-in-Law Announces Extension

David Lan's production of The Daughter-in-Law has extended its run at the Young Vic — of which Lan is artistic director — by a week.

The play, set against industrial unrest in a mining community in 1912, follows the fortunes of a young married couple who are in many ways ill-matched, and whose relationship is marred by the husband's continued emotional attachment to his dominating mother.

The play shows D. H. Lawrence, better known as a novelist (especially for "Lady Chatterly's Lover"), to be an effective and impressive playwright as well.
