News Umphress, Ray, Carmichael, Ward and More Join Dothée at the Beechman Feb. 23 Singer-songwriter Nick Dothée, who was seen as Tony in West Virginia Public Theatre's production of West Side Story, celebrates the upcoming release of his new album, "My Own Devices," Feb. 23 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The evening features songs from the new CD and boasts guest vocalists Alysha Umphress, Kevin Ray, Patrick Carmichael, Skip Ward, Brandon Ellis, Jeff Washburn and Vanessa Dunleavy. Show time is 7 PM.

With music and lyrics by Nick Dothée and Kevin Ray, "My Own Devices," according to press notes, is a "conglomeration of pop songs that deconstruct what it means to control one’s destiny."

In a statement Dothée said, "In writing this album, I wanted to speak not only to my life experiences, but to those humorous, ironic, and heartbreaking occurrences that affect us all – parental relationships, adolescence, break-ups, even fits of insomnia. This album is about shedding fears, releasing anxieties, and celebrating the joy of living in a positive forward motion."

With Kevin Ray, Dothée also penned "Sleep Tonight," the first single (available on iTunes) from his album "My Own Devices." For more information visit www.NickDothee.com.
