News Understudies from Porgy and Bess, Bring It On, Book of Mormon, Once, Chaplin, Rock of Ages Will Stand in the Spotlight At This Performance, the ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway standbys and understudies, will continue Oct. 8.

Presented by Musicals Tonight!, the 7 PM concert will be held at Off-Broadway's The Lion Theatre. Casting director Stephen DeAngelis will host the evening, which will feature musical direction and piano accompaniment by Eugene Gwozdz.

Among the performers who will sing and share anecdotes about their experiences are Sumayya Ali (understudy for the roles of Bess, Clara, Serena and The Strawberry Woman in The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess), Charl Brown (understudy for the roles of Eddie Souther, Pablo and T.J. in Sister Act), Trevon Davis (understudy for the role of Jake in The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess), Ariana DeBose (understudy for the role of Danielle in Bring It On: The Musical), Kevin Duda (understudy for the roles of Elder Price, Price’s Dad, Mission President, Mission Training Center Voice and Joseph Smith in The Book of Mormon), Michelle Duffy (understudy for the roles of Marla McGowan and Sam Nightingale in Leap of Faith), Emilee Dupre (understudy for the role of Hannah Chaplin in Chaplin), Haley Hannah (understudy for the roles of Campbell, Eva and Taylor in Bring It On: The Musical), Joaquina Kalukango (standby for all female roles in Godspell), Katie Webber (understudy for the role of Sherrie in Rock of Ages) and J. Michael Zygo (understudy for the roles of Guy and Billy in Once).
