The Billy Joel dance hit Movin’ Out will offer an open-captioned performance on March 26 at 2 PM. Open-captioned performances feature a screen to one side of the stage onto which the show’s dialogue is projected. Other open-captioned performances scheduled include Adult Entertainment (March 30 at 6 PM), Enchanted April (April 12 at 2 PM), Urban Cowboy (April 19 at 2 PM), Humble Boy (June 7 at 2:30 PM) and Man of La Mancha (June 11 at 8 PM). Those shows offering American Sign Language-interpreted performances include Urban Cowboy (April 9 at 8 PM), Aida (June 3 at 8 PM), Thoroughly Modern Millie (June 6 at 8 PM) and Man of La Mancha (June 15 at 3 PM). Both A Year With Frog and Toad (May 17 at 3:30 PM) and Chicago (May 3 at 2 PM) will offer performances that are both open-captioned and sign language interpreted.

The 1980 production of The Elephant Man was the first Broadway show to feature a sign language-interpreted performance, and 1996’s Barrymore was the first to offer an open-captioned performance.
