Red Bull Theater Company's Revelation Readings series gets underway Sept. 15 with the New York premiere of Amy Freed's Restoration Comedy.

Red Bull artistic director Jesse Berger directs the 7 PM performance that features "Ugly Betty" actor Michael Urie. The performance is preceded by a 6 PM cocktail reception with the actors. Restoration Comedy also features the talents of Danny Scheie (You, Nero), Caralyn Kozolowski, Craig Baldwin, Katie Barrett, Jeff Biehl (Shipwrecked), Jane Carr (Mary Poppins), Gregory Woodell (Country Wife), Bhama Roget (References to Salvador Dali), Paul Mullins (Paradise Park), Susannah Schulmann and Arthur Bartow (Edward the Second).

Red Bull describes Restoration Comedy as "a hilarious fusion of Vanbrugh's classic sex-farce The Relapse and its wild prequel Cibber's Love's Last Shift."

Playwright Amy Freed has penned The Beard of Avon, Freedomland, The Psychic Lives of Savages, Safe in Hell and You, Nero.

Additional Revelation Readings for 2008-2009 include Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus, John Marston's Malcontent, Percy Bysshe Shelley's Cenci and Ben Jonson's The Silent Woman.
