News Usher to Receive Spirit Award from Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Usher, who appeared as Billy Flynn in Broadway's Chicago last year, will receive the Spirit Award at the 17th annual Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Theatre Awards.

The ceremony will take place on Feb. 19 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood, CA. Usher is a five-time Grammy Award-winning artist. His fifth album, "Confessions," was released in 2004 and sold over 15 million copies. The Hip-hop artist has also appeared in such films as "She's All That," "The Faculty," "Light it Up," "Geppetto," "Texas Rangers" and "In the Mix." His television credits include "The Twilight Zone," "7th Heaven," "Moesha" and "American Dreams." Chicago marked Usher's Broadway debut.

Also at the ceremony, the director George C. Wolfe will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Recent SAG Award winner Chandra Wilson ("Grey's Anatomy," Wolfe's production of Caroline, or Change) and Steve Harris will host the ceremony, which will also include awards for local theatre productions.
