Ute Lemper, the sultry songstress and former star of both the London and New York productions of Chicago, returns to Joe's Pub for a string of eight performances beginning Oct. 4. It is Lemper's second visit to the theatrical downtown night spot, after appearing in a sold-out engagement last spring. Lemper is best known for her interpretations of Kurt Weil.
Bruno Fontaine will accompany her on piano. All shows are at 8:30.
Faith Prince recently wrapped up a two-week gig at Joe's Pub, in which she performed her new cabaret act, "Leap of Faith." At the time, there was some talk of Prince returning to the club, or perhaps continuing her act at another space. So far, however, no further news has come to light.
Following Lemper will be performer Keith David, singing a tribute to great Blues men, Oct. 25, Nov 1 & 7.
