News “View” Co-Host to Offer Pre-Performance Reading at If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the remaining co-hosts of “The View,” will make a pre-performance appearance at the July 25 matinee of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie & Other Story Books.

Hasselbeck will be on hand prior to the 1 PM matinee of the TheatreworksUSA production to offer a reading of the popular children's book "Imogene's Antlers." All children who attend this performance will receive a free copy of the aforementioned David Small children’s story.

Directed and choreographed by Kevin Del Aguila, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie & Other Story Books co-stars Farah Alvin, David A. Austin, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Nick Blaemire, Aurelia Williams and Carla Woods. The creative team also features Rob Odoriso (scenic design), Vaughn Patterson (additional design elements), Martha Bromelmeier (costume design), Tom Sturge (lighting design), Eric Shim (sound design), Jana Zielonka (music direction), Robert Lopez/Jeff Marx (orchestrations) and David Hab/James-Allen Ford (additional orchestrations).

The one-hour musical features eight vignettes, each based on popular children's books, which have been adapted by a mix of songwriters, including Tony-winning Avenue Q composers Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Featured stories include the following:
"Amazing Grace" by Mary Hoffman, adapted by Kirsten Childs
"Borreguita and the Coyote" by Verna Aardema, adapted by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx
"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Laura Joffe Numeroff, adapted by Jeremy Desmon and Patrick Dwyer
"Imogene’s Antlers" by David Small, adapted by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx
"Martha Speaks" by Susan Meddaugh, adapted by Arthur Perlman and Jeffrey Lunden
"Master Man” by Aaron Shepard, adapted by Jordan Allen-Dutton and Erik Weiner and James-Allen Ford
"Math Curse" by Jon Scieszka, adapted by Mindi Dickstein and Daniel Messé
"Owen" by Kevin Henkes, adapted by Faye Greenberg and David Evans

Through Aug. 18, show times are Sundays at 2 PM, Mondays at 10:30 AM and 6:30 PM, Tuesdays at 1 PM, Wednesdays at 10:30 AM and 6:30 PM, Thursdays at 1 and 6:30 PM and Fridays at 1 PM.

Tickets for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the performance at the Lucile Lortel Theatre box office, located at 121 Christopher Street. *
