It follows a season that their previous stage show, Midnight Tango, played at the same address, after launching in 2010. Both shows have been directed by Karen Bruce. Bruce also co-choreographs with Vincent Simone.
Simone and Cacace, who are former world champions, have been dancing together for 20 years. According to press materials, their new show fuses musical theatre, dance, romance and comedy.
With a book by Ed Curtis, the show is set in Los Angeles in the 1940s. During a Hollywood film shoot leading man Bobby Burns is murdered and a romance develops between beautiful starlet Sadie Strauss (Cacace) and her handsome lover Tony DeLuca (Simone). As a plot to frame Tony DeLuca unfolds, the duo use their flawless footwork and choreography to Tango and Quickstep their way out of trouble and into each other’s arms.
The show features a full live band performing iconic numbers including "Feeling Good," "Moon River" and "Stand By Me." The musical arranger and orchestrator is Chris Egan, with musical direction by Mark Crossland.
