Classic Arts News Virginia Opera Announces 2005-06 Season The Virginia Opera will perform Verdi's La traviata, Gounod's Romeo and Juliet, Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, and Bellini's Norma in 2005-06, the company announced.
Lillian Groag, the New York City Opera veteran who directed the company's production of Tristan und Isolde this season, will return to stage Norma. Artistic director Peter Mark will conduct La traviata, Romeo and Juliet, and Norma; associate conductor Dan Sauders will conduct Figaro.

The Virginia Opera performs in Norfolk's Harrison Opera House, Richmond's Landmark Theater, and the George Mason University Center for the Arts in Fairfax.
